The Independent Living Center is your Durable Medical Equipment (DME) headquarters. We are a cash and carry, meaning we don’t file with any insurances or Medicaid/Medicare. This system allows us to price our items lower and flexibly, depending on the need. The Center offers two different options to get the DME that works for you and your budget.

NEW SALES: We handle all our DME sales at our main location, 2639 East 34th Street. We offer wheelchairs, walkers, standup walkers, rollators (4wheels and a seat), bath benches and seats, grab bars, and many other items. If we don’t have it in stock, we work with several vendors and get it for you in 24-48 hours.

RECYCLE: This is a wonderful program for those on limited budgets and offers a wide variety similar to our new sales items. Inventory fluctuates depending on donations and demand. Please see us at 2639 East 34th to check out the inventory of recycled power chairs! YES, power chairs! We would love to gift these chairs to individuals who have the need and not the finances. These are gently used but still have plenty of use left in them. The recycling program is grant-funded, so we do have some requirements to meet.
